Fortnite fans are clapping back at Epic Games for a lack of updates to the often forgotten Creative Mode. Alongside the recent drop of Season 4 and its Marvel-themed content, there's been plenty of drama surrounding the war between Apple and Epic. With Creative Mode being sidelined more than ever, it's a frustrating state of affairs for those who love the Minecraft-inspired element.

Living up to the "creative" element of its name, the mode has become a playground for fans to recreate everything from Mario's Mushroom Kingdom to Nook's Cranny from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The problem is, Epic Games has set the bar high with its constant updates to battle royale mode - leading to criticisms that Creative Mode has been left behind. Creative Mode hasn't had any new vehicles since 2019 and received no new items for nearly three months, which has become a point of contention.

Posting on Reddit, u/NexusGaming2020 wrote, "They’re really neglecting it, if I were optimistic I would say maybe they are waiting for a big update but I’m not sure". Even though there was a new update, players were less than impressed by what Epic introduced. Redditor u/XmiteYT said, "I stayed up until 2 AM for nothing. I don't care about battle royale, I don't care about Save the World. Creative got nothing".

While the recent Joy Ride update finally added cars to the main battle royale mode, Creative Mode didn't get the same treatment. There are also complaints Creative Mode hasn't added the same weapons and items as battle royale. Although some have been accidentally added, Epic has quickly removed them.

It's not all doom and gloom when it comes to Creative Mode. With so much hype surrounding the recent release of Mediatonic's Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, it didn't take long for someone to recreate the colourful party game inside Fortnite. Even if battle royale mode is the big draw of Fortnite, it's important to remember there's a huge fanbase that is coming to the game just for Creative Mode.

Whether Epic will change its stance and return Creative Mode to its former glory remains to be seen, but either way, it won't stop players' creative juices flowing as they continue to innovate on their little islands.
