Fortnite Map Update Confirms The Temple POI Is Doomed
There are changes on the horizon of Fortnite, as an upcoming map change looks like it will wipe the Temple POI from the map and introduce a brand-new locale. Get your whip and fedora because Indiana Jones could be key to these changes.
As we stick on the neon face paint and roll around in our ballers for Fortnite's latest season, we're chugging our way through the Battle Pass to try to reach Darth Vader. Epic Games is putting its green fingers to good use and planting Reality Roots across the map ready to bloom into Reality Trees for Chapter 3 Season 3.
What's Going On With The Temple POI?
According to HYPEX, the new Temple Bloom POI will follow in the footsteps of Logjam Lotus and Butter Bloom as a Reality Tree will burst from the ground and revamp things. Some questioned why the Temple was marked as a named location in recent quests, leading to speculation it's about to play a bigger part in the Chapter 3 Season 3 map.
HYPEX says that Temple Bloom will be marked on the map in the upcoming July 5 update. They also pointed to files in the back end that refer to something called The Tower. Although it's unclear whether the POI will be called The Tower or Temple Bloom, we could be reaching for the skies.
Others have noted that the Temple connotations could be related to Indiana Jones as this season's "secret" skin. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was the franchise's second movie, and the name Temple Bloom is a little too close for our liking to be a coincidence.
Are More POIs Coming In Chapter 3 Season 3?
If this is the way things are moving forward, could we see more POIs being wiped out by Reality Trees? It's not outside the realms of possibility that every major POI will be swapped out for a Reality Tree - but that would be a lot of work. Even though updates could stop during Epic's summer break, the map is guaranteed to look very different to how it does now when Chapter 3 Season 3 comes to a close.
Others have noted that the recent Butter Barn has rotating themes that honour classic POIs like Colossal Coliseum, Coral Castle, and Neon Titled. Hopefully, this means future updates could homage the likes of Kit's Cantina, Rickety Rig, and Tomato Town. To be honest, we'd just like to see more of the Hey Boo Megastore. Either way, the idea of The Tower sounds like a sniper's paradise.
