Fortnite announced their partnership with BTS this morning, alongside a Party Royale mode. Epic Games posted their breakdown of how to access the new mode on the official Fortnite blog, and have accidentally left two leaks within the images, revealing a new game mode and the Duo World Cup.

The blog post, by "The Fortnite Team" explains how to jump into Party Royale to be able to watch the K-Pop band, giving players a step by step walkthrough. As they navigated players through the menu, eagle-eyed readers saw the game modes "Arena Boxfight" and "Duo World Cup" could be selected in the background. The image has now been changed, hinting that this was a huge blunder by the Epic Games team.

The legitimacy of this can be questioned, with the images possibly being a mere placeholder. However, the Arena Boxfight mode has been found within the files previously and is rumoured to be released in the near future. This certainly offers a larger insight into whether the Fortnite Duo World Cup 2021 leak is substantial.

All Fortnite competitions are to be held online at the current time, due to the ongoing pandemic, and the Fortnite World Cup 2020 was unfortunately cancelled. In a tweet in April, Fortnite stated: "We don't know when a return to large, global, in-person events will be practical, but we're hopeful to be able to put on some form of Fortnite World Cup in 2021. In the meantime we have more info about online events with FNCS, Cash Cups, 3rd Party Events and Broadcasts".

With hopes of a 2021 World Cup, it appears that Epic has decided that it will include the format of Duos, such as it did in 2019. Reigning World Champions consist of Bugha, who won $3M for winning the solos finals, and Nyhrox and Aqua who won duos. With hope, they'll be up for the competition again in 2021.
