The new season of Fortnite seems to have one thing in mind - vibes.

It's certainly a nice turn, as after a win against the Imagined Order in an in-game war of uncomfortable timing to say the least, the residents of the island can get together and just have a nice time with all of the new amusements, and exciting rollercoaster running across the map. Darth Vader may have shown up to make life difficult, but who cares? We're vibin', baby.

But as it turns out, a favourite character isn't exactly vibin'. In fact, they're dead. And their corpse is well on display.

Fortnite's Klombo Is Dead

Oh, dear.

Klombo, the adorable, gigantic How To Train Your Dragon-looking monster that stomped around the Fortnite map, blasting players from its back and flattening its foes, has defied the season's 'good vibes' theme, and has only gone and died.

Even worse still, rubbing salt into the wounds of their biggest fans, Klombo's skeleton has been found out in the open on the map, with a chest sitting right beside its gaping maw.

This is a surprisingly bleak turn for the new season that seems to be powered by good vibes alone, and a deeply upsetting sight for Klombo's greatest fans. RIP to a real one.

An Obituary For Klombo

Klombo was a beautiful big baby who enriched the lives of all and helped players to rotate in moments where all was thought lost. Always the protector, catapulting the squad far from danger, or eating half a building to bag you a legendary weapon, Klombo had a blowhole almost as powerful as its temper, yet we loved it all the same.

Few have touched the lives of the inhabitants of the island quite like Klombo, and though the island now wears its legacy in its skeletal corpse left behind, Klombo's spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew them.

We hope that wherever you are, Klombo, the Klomberries are aplenty. Because without you, we may never truly be vibin'. Rest easy.
