Epic Games and Fortnite are giving players two things at the moment - everything they've ever wanted, and everything they never knew they wanted. The game's OG month was a barnstormer for the battle royale, setting a new player-count record. Followed by the launch of LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite beat the record again.

Claims of "dead game" have simmered into the background, and Fortnite has truly never been in a better place. A lot of that is thanks to the fact that the game seemingly refuses to sit still. And now, new leaks point to an exciting Chapter 5 Season 2 theme from the history books.

Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 2 theme has leaked

It looks like big changes are coming to Fortnite yet again, as the theme of Chapter 5 Season 2 seems to have leaked. We may be in for a treat that we haven't seen in the battle royale title yet.

Reliable Fortnite leakers like HYPEX are claiming that the next season of Fortnite could be inspired by Greek mythology, thanks to a few key hints peppered in the files of the game.

The next season is codenamed Aiga, which fans have pointed out is Greek for Goat, and the files indicate that a new boss that will appear on the game's map will spawn from a lightning strike.

This has led fans to expect that maybe even Zeus himself could be the man responsible for the strike - plus, with fans pointing out that there's a good deal of characters that seem inspired by Greek mythology in recent surveys (as shown in HYPEX's tweet), it's evidence enough for many.

It's a compelling claim that indicates that Fortnite isn't done with creative ideas yet. To be fair, we'd think they'd have lost ideas years ago. We're going to have to wait and see if the season actually ends up being themed on Greek mythology, which will come after the current season comes to a close on March 8 2024.

As a new season rises from the depths of the Underworld, expect Chapter 5 Season 2 to go live not long after. It's a long time to wait until the next refresh, but we expect it'll be worth it. We're keen to take down Zeus, as clearly, a sentient banana and a fish-man is all it takes.
