Blimey, Fortnite is turning five in 2022. And my, my, how it has grown. The battle royale favourite has come a long way since its original launch, undergoing a Ship of Theseus-grade transformation to make it practically a brand-new game.

Introducing crossover cosmetics, revamped mechanics and additions to the title has done wonders for Epic Games' juggernaut, and has turned it into the cultural giant that it is now. Now, we're gearing up to celebrate the occasion.

The Fortnite birthday event is set to give party players a wealth of items if they're willing to complete some challenges along the way. If you can't be bothered waiting, leakers have already identified the Fortnite 5th birthday rewards that are on the way.

What Are The Fortnite 5th Birthday Rewards?

It would seem that leakers have opened their presents early, as the items on offer for Fortnite's big fifth birthday bash have already been revealed.

It has been revealed that the celebrations include plenty for players to do, as they'll be offered three challenges in-game to complete. In order to clear them, you'll have to jump off the Battle Bus to throw five birthday presents, consume birthday cake in five different matches, and use balloons in five different matches.

Once these challenges have been bested, players will earn themselves four different cosmetics - a Spray, a Back Bling, a Banner, and a Pickaxe. We don't know exactly what some of these items are just yet, but the goodies include a Sparklecake Spray, and Fuzzfetti Cake Back Bling, thanks to a tweet from leaker Guille_GAG.

When Is Fortnite's Birthday Event Happening?

There's no concrete date for the event itself just yet, but it's thought that the birthday celebrations will begin on September 24 and end on September 28.

The Fortnite fifth birthday bonanza isn't far off, but it's an incredibly short one. If you want these items, you're going to have to be on the ball, because once the celebrations are over, you won't have the chance to bag them again.

It's nice to be celebrating the birthday of such an influential game together as a community, though we're likely to still be trying to kill each other in-game anyway. Myabe we can take a break from trying to get the dub to play a quick game of pass the parce;? At least the thought is there from Epic Games.
