It's been a long time coming, but now, it looks like Richard "Ricky" Bengston, aka FaZe Banks, will be making his return to YouTube. Alongside Eric "CLipZ" Rivera, Jeff "House Cat" Emann, Ben "Resistance" Christensen, Ted "Fakie", and Thomas "Temperrr" Oliveira, FaZe Banks was one of the original FaZe Clan founders and has been with THE acclaimed gaming house since the early days. While he was once a huge personality on YouTube, he's moved away from the video service in recent years.

FaZe Banks last posted on YouTube in May 2019 and has left a blank space in his content creation since. Although he's still very much part of FaZe Clan, he once teased that he might never go back to YouTube. Thankfully, Banks has made a complete U-turn and told fans he'll be back on YouTube "soon".

Why is FaZe Banks returning to YouTube?

Posting on Twitter, a FaZe Banks fan under the name @BloodShhot wrote, "I should be watching a @Banks vlog rn but oh well [sad emoji]". Proving that Bengston is still active on social media, the FaZe figurehead simply wrote, "Soon". It's the confirmation many have been waiting for, but unfortunately, that's all FaZe Banks had to offer. Despite being grilled by others demanding to know more, Bengston left it with the rather vague response.

The idea of FaZe Banks coming back to YouTube gave his followers hope and soon spread like wildfire. One supporter wrote, "You promise me, don’t do me like that", while another cheered, "Can’t wait ur inspirational bro". A third added, "Do It whenever you feel ready my good man". From the response, it's clear to see fans can't wait to see Bengston back on the platform that helped him make his name.

Why is FaZe Banks returning to YouTube?

In August, Bengston seemed to confirm he was done with YouTube. FaZe Banks told Mike Majlak’s The Night Shift series, "I’ve been going through some sh*t, same as the last 28 years". When pushed on whether he'd return to YouTube, Bengston explained, "I won’t return anytime soon. No plans, at all. It’s cool doing stuff like this, because this is fun, but for me personally, I’m being real now, it doesn’t make me happy doing it. Being under the YouTube microscope, I don’t like it. Fine being in other people’s videos though, that’s cool".

Asked if he'd instead take to streaming via Twitch, FaZe Banks laughed, "Oh god no! No… there’s no failsafe, you can edit stuff out [on YouTube] but can’t do that on streaming. No way". Bengston is no stranger to taking an extended hiatus from YouTube. He previously stepped away from YouTube in 2018, however, his latest absence has been a lot longer than expected. Even if FaZe Banks hasn't given a concrete date for the return of the king, at least we know it's on the horizon...somewhere!
