When Will Fall Guys Season 2 Start?
Gather round m'lords and m'ladies because Mediatonic is sounding the fanfare for Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Season 2. After the squishy party game's meteoric rise to the top of the Twitch charts and taking the title of the most-downloaded PlayStation Plus game of all time, there were obvious questions about the longevity of the game.
Season 1 saw the late addition of Big Yeetus and Anti-Cheatus alongside some revamped level designs, but when it comes to Season 2, it's all change thanks to the introduction of a Medieval-themed season.
As well as new courses, there are dragons and damsels alongside knights and knaves. There's also apparently a Viking, because yeah, why not? There's plenty of hype for the next action-packed season, so just when is Fall Guys Season 2 riding in on its trusty steed?
Fall Guys Season 2 Release Date
Mediatonic has been on the assault promoting Fall Guys Season 2, meaning it's not exactly a surprise when those bouncing beans are getting their latest makeover. There have been a lot of questions about when Season 1 will end and Season 2 will enter the arena. Season 1 was originally scheduled to bow out on October 5 and leave a three-day gap until Season 2 kicked off.
The official Fall Guys Twitter confirmed that Season 1 will now end on October 8 and be immediately followed by Season 2 on the very same day. As an added celebration, there will be double fame points from October 5 - 8. The original description was a little vague and just told fans there would be an October drop of new content:
"Fall Guys Season 2 will bring the dragon fire with feudal fortresses, knockout knights and pugilistic paladins among new additions coming this October. A full season of new costumes, emotes, and more will reward players as they lay siege to the Middle Ages".
What's new in Fall Guys Season 2?
Alongside a whole wardrobe of outfit changes and new levels like the recently revealed Knight Fever, there are other tweaks across the board. Although PC players were used to customising their names, Mediatonic is giving us all the chance to try out new nametags. As well as even more crowns up for grabs as rewards for completing Season 2 challenges, who could ignore the terrifying addition of the spike-covered log known as Thicc Bonkus?
Elsewhere, gamers are eagerly awaiting any news on a possible Xbox version of Fall Guys. Like Season 1, Fall Guys Season 2's release will only be on PC and PlayStation. There were previous whispers that Fall Guys Xbox was "ready to go", but as of yet, Season 2 is only coming to two platforms. Will Mediatonic also make the jump to Switch and bring Fall Guys to an even bigger fanbase?
Will there be a Fall Guys Season 3?
Despite fears that Fall Guys could lose steam and be relegated to the depths of forgotten party games, Mediatonic is doing everything in its power to prove naysayers wrong. A Medieval season is a break from the norm and has sparked questions about what could come after it. A prehistoric Fall Guys season, an underwater adventure, or what about a trip to outer space?
Looking at Season 1's August release, it's likely that a potential Season 3 would come in another two months. This would line up nicely with Christmas and give developers a chance to flex their festive muscles with some Yuletide goodwill. Given the amount of interest Season 2 has drummed up, it's hard to see Fall Guys not getting a third season. That being said, Mediatonic is yet to officially give it the green light.
