The South Korean esports organisation Element Mystic has announced that it's taking a one-year break throughout 2021. In what form or direction the team will be coming back in 2022, or why it had to close was not shared.

According to a translation by Jade "Swingchip" Kim of a comment by Overwatch team head coach Kwang-bok "Coach815" Kim, the team will play out the remaining matches with players currently not eligible for Overwatch League due to these players having to focus on their trials. Moreover, it was shared that all members of the team are open to be reached privately. However, Coach815 didn't want to rule out the possibility of the team sticking together in 2022.

Element Mystic is one of the premier talent forges in South Korean esports, developing elite talent especially in Overwatch Contenders. The team has celebrated several titles including a victory at the Gauntlet in 2019 and had been a powerhouse in the tier 2 scene. Through their program, over a dozen professionals found their way into Overwatch League with more expected to be signed this off-season, among them the entire current squad of Dallas Fuel. Players like Ki-hyo "Xzi" Jung, Han-been "Hanbin", Eui-Seok "Fearless" Lee, Dong-ha "Doha" Kim, and Yeong-han "SP9RK1E" Kim had been developed in Element Mystic before going on to show elite performance at the highest level of competition in the Overwatch League.
