Never one to sway from controversy, Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV, a.k.a Dr DisRespect, has now managed to upset some of the largest gaming communities with a divisive tweet.

The Doc is one of gaming longest-standing professionals, having won two Streamer of the Year awards in 2017 and 2019, working for Sledgehammer Games on the map development of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, designing maps for Hi-Rez studios' newest FPS shooter Rogue Company, and amounting over three million subscribers on YouTube.

However, his veteran status has been called in to question by the up-and-coming mobile gaming community after branding them as not "serious".

Taking to Twitter, Dr DisRespect stated: "I’ve got 3 state-of-the-art 1ms speed colour-calibrated monitors staring at me, a keyboard with titan switch optical keystrokes and a mouse that weighs literally nothing backed by a 200k multi pc setup....and you have the guts to tell me mobile gaming is a serious thing?".

It's fair to say, the mobile gaming community didn't take this comment light-heartedly.

The replies started firing back, with YouTube Head of Gaming Ryan "Fwiz" Wyatt stating "And Nobru is pulling 4x the live viewership than you just playing from his phone". Bruno "Nobru" Goes is a professional Free Fire player who currently operates for Brazillian side Corinthians, but is more known for being one of the regions biggest streamers.

COD Mobile professionals also hit back at the two-time champion, with Elijah "HawksNest" Jackson mocking the comments by saying "So what you're telling me is you spent $200k+ to do something my $600 phone can do? Before adding "Welcome to the future old man".

Luke 'iFerg' Fergie also hit back at the Doc by challenging him to a $100,000 one versus one wager, PC versus Mobile, which can be made possible through cross-platform on COD Mobile.

With the Doc being branded as blind to the future of gaming and esports, his antics have actually brought the mobile community closer than ever in their fight to unseat console and PC gaming.
