Call of Duty's biggest critic, Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Beahm, has claimed the series has finally "given up".

The Doc might be the harshest voice against the series, often speaking out against the state of the current game and the battle royale.

But having gone blow for blow, Doc is now claiming that Call of Duty has thrown in the towel and accepted its fate.

Dr Disrespect returns to Warzone, instantly confronted by hackers

Dr Disrespect made his return to the battle royale after rage-quitting from Warzone last month, despite winning his last game.

But after stepping back to the Call of Duty realm, in the footsteps of the recently-returned Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff, the inaugural stream only resulted in frustrations.

The quad of Doc, Nick, Tim "TimTheTatman" Betar, and Dennis "Cloakzy" Lapore were quickly set upon by cheaters in their Warzone matches, with one game seeing Dr Disrespect get lasered out of the air by a blatant hacker.

After dying to the cheat, the streamer said, "Isn't it upsetting to see where video games have gotten to now?"

Dr Disrespect was then instantly confronted by a team of skilled players once he landed back from the redeployment, and refused to get bought back in from his squad, adding, "I'm so disinterested in this game".

Dr Disrespct quizzes whether Call of Duty has 'given up'

Amid the hackers, stream snipers, and aim assist cheese, Dr Disrespect has now called out the game on X/Twitter, quizzing, "Did Call of Duty give up on itself?"

Other fans of the franchise then piled on, with one saying, "COD gave up years ago, but u keep playing, so if u want change, then stop playing."

Another fan did argue that Warzone is the lesser of all BR evils, even if it's not perfect. "I don’t understand why COD is the only Battle Royale/ team shooter that is even remotely fun to play," they said. "That’s the crazy part."

In a world where Helldivers 2 exists though, maybe it's time for a genre shift away from battle royales to other squad-based entertainment titles...
