Call of Duty skins are getting more elaborate every year. While some depict actual wartime outfits, others reimagine professional footballers like Lionel Messi.

The FPS shooter giants opted to pair with the soccer moguls like Messi, Neymar, and Pogba to celebrate the World Cup and capitalise on the hype of the worldwide event to generate skin sales.

With how successful this collaboration was, you might imagine that the devs are now eyeing other huge sporting events, and with the NFL Super Bowl LVII coming on February 12, why not bring to life the American Football teams?

Well, that was the thought process of one fan, and they've now created skins for each team, and fans are going crazy.

Fan-Made NFL Skins Are Going Viral

With the Super Bowl just around the corner, one artist has decided to create Call of Duty skin for the franchised teams, but instead of depicting players, the skins harness the likeness of the teams branding.

For example, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' skin showcases a war-ridden private skeleton, the Cincinnati Bengals' design sports the ears and stripes of the Bengal tiger, and the Los Angeles Rams' operator has taken the shell colour of a ram's horn to their outfit, ear defenders, and helmet.

The artist behind the idea hasn't been identified, but it appears that the designs are done through an AI program named Midjourney, where a string of commands will help bring your imagination to life.

The discussion around AI art creation is a hot one right now, with High on Life reportedly using it to finish the game and someone using it to create a story for The Last of Us Part 3

Call of Duty Fans Go Crazy Over NFL Skins

After seeing the Call of Duty x NFL designs go viral, fans instantly took a likening to their favourite teams' reimaginings and even appreciated those of their rivals who had equally awesome operators.

"The current store in CoD is so boring, these would finally be good skins," one fan claimed on Twitter. Another fan said, "Not going to lie, I would 100% cop a couple of them".

With the Super Bowl on the horizon, Activision could look to take inspiration from this hype. After all, Epic Games made a success of NFL decals in Rocket League in previous years, so why not dabble in these incredible designs? There have been rumblings of a collab for a while now too...
