Lo and behold, Activision has done it, it's finally listened and admitted that the Call of Duty servers suck.

It's all well and good bringing in a wealth of updates to try and revive Call of Duty, especially in Warzone where the community is crying out for more content and an overhaul of the movement system, but if you can't physically play the game, then there lies the major issue.

That's been the story for many players, as the Call of Duty servers have struggled to adapt to the 150-player game modes compared to the usual 12. But finally, Call of Duty is fixing their servers.

After years of unstable servers resulting in all kinds of lag - input delay, lag spikes, and disconnections as just a few examples - Activision has now taken action against IRS online servers.

"We are investigating reports of server-related gameplay issues and are actively working to resolve them," said Call of Duty on Twitter.

The investigation has been added to the official Trello board, which is growing by the day due to problems such as broken combat records also being under the microscope.

Call of Duty fans rejoice as servers undergo maintenance

"Finally! Thank you for acknowledging this issue (probably the biggest for Warzone 2 in Season 3). You can have the best game in the world, but if the servers are not playable, everyone will be frustrated and leave," said one happy fan.

Others joked that AI removal would be the key to fixing the servers, with one saying, "Thank you. If removing AI helps the performance, I am sure nobody in the community would be against removing AI completely."

The developers will likely want to fix their Warzone 2 servers before the release of Ranked during the mid-season update, so a fix could be quite imminent.
