Baldur's Gate 3 has wasted no time in proving just how strange it is, and it's just what we waited all this time for. The appeal of Dungeon & Dragons and the possibilities that come from players choosing to take bonkers left turns while pushing a story's boundaries are exactly what Baldur's Gate 3 prides itself on.

Thankfully, it does a damn good job, and the strangest corners of the game's possibilities have been calling to players all over the place. Now, even though there were already some deeply bizarre romance options that we knew about, it looks like the rabbit hole goes even deeper.

Baldur's Gate 3 isn't slowing its content just because it has only recently officially launched, as new updates are coming in hot to add brand new content to the game - and that applies to romance options too.

One of the newest additions to the game, puts the previously available romance options to shame. If you're struggling to find your perfect partner, players can now choose to bed the Mind Flayers across Faerûn. The freaky Lovecraftian squid monsters are more famous as the big bad of Stranger Things.

They're certainly an acquired taste but hey, we're in no position to judge who you want to bonk, so you go ahead and do what you will. It comes after we were originally told we couldn't romance Mind Flayers in Baldur's Gate 3.

One fan previously questioned why they couldn't romance the Mind Flayers and was told, "To have a truly romantic moment with the Mind Flayer it all needs to be done telepathically. I know that for us mere humans this might look more disappointing but we have to respect the wishes of the Mind Flayer too."

How do you sleep with the Mind Flayers in Baldur's Gate 3?

Don't worry if you want to take those tentacles for a spin yourself, because romancing Mind Flayers is actually surprisingly easy. Once you meet them near the end of act two, they're pretty surprised that you want to offer them any kind of intimacy when you offer to give them a hug.

From there, you can take whatever route you want to get them into bed. There's even an option to romance the Mind Flayer known as The Emperor, which is easily one of the strangest romances Baldur's Gate 3 will present you with. The game gives us plenty of sexual oddities, but this certainly pushes the boat out a bit.
