Baldur's Gate 3 has won Game of the Year in 2023 and will likely go down as one of the greatest RPGs of all time.

The story, gameplay, and performances all come together to create an immersive and gripping experience that leaves you wondering how Larian Studios managed to piece it all together.

However, as with any game, certainly one with this much scope and ambition, BG3 is not perfect and certainly has its flaws, especially when it comes to "annoying" bugs.

One particular glitch has been causing widespread frustration within the community, involving companions not following the party over certain obstacles. Well, players' prayers have finally been answered and a fix has been rolled out.

Baldur's Gate 3 devs finally fix 'companions not following' bug

On December 21, Larian Studios released Hotfix 15 which addressed a long list of problems affecting BG3's gameplay.

Despite this, one fix stood out from the rest for the community, and that was a solution to "companions not being able to jump when following the player character."

This has been a major issue since release, with players jumping over a crevice, only to find out 10 minutes later that Gale, Shadowheart, Wyll or another member of the party were a little too scared to take the leap.

After realising they have been left behind, you have to switch to them and join the whole gang back together, which breaks the flow of the gameplay and is very frustrating. It's even worse when you only realise you're missing a member after you've entered combat. As a result, this fix is brilliant and the community is over the moon.

Baldur's Gate 3 fans "praise the gods" that the glitch is gone

BG3 fans have been showering Larian with praise after finally addressing this problem, making it clear that "this was the bug that needed fixing."

"Thank God they fixed this, it was so irritating having to go back for that one companion that never jumped," said one user, with another claiming "This was the ONE bug that frustrated me endlessly."

While there are still plenty of other glitches that need to be fixed, at least now you and your party won't be separated as easily on your journey through Faerûn.
