Ash’s Heirloom is being branded as the ‘worst’ in Apex Legends

It takes an age to unlock heirloom shards in Apex Legends. In fact, it takes 500 Apex Packs, maximum to unlock 150 heirloom shards, which comes out at roughly $500 in price, but a hell of a lot more in time.

So, you'd expect the heirlooms to be quite an impressive piece of kit. 

For the most part, this rings true, and players have loved the Apex Legends heirlooms so far, injecting personality into the individual legends and making for quite the flair in a player's arsenal.

But Ash mains aren't as lucky.

Apex Legends Ash Heirloom announced through collection

Ash is renowned in Apex Legends for having a sword on her hilt, something that is seen in each of her skins and is a huge part of her ability pool too.

Yet it's not a sword that will come as her heirloom. Instead, as part of the Sun Squad summer collection, Ash's heirloom will be a pair of nunchucks named "Strongest Link".

The heirloom will come on March 28, alongside the divisive swimsuit skin range, and can be unlocked through the usual shard crafting options or by unlocking all 24 collectables in the Sun Squad line.

Apex Legends fans hate the new Ash heirloom

Just a mere few hours after its announcement though and players are already hating on the Ash heirloom in Apex Legends.

Ash's heirloom is hated so much that its even been branded as the "worst heirloom in the game" before its even been released.

"I knew they would run out of ideas because they kept releasing blade/slicing/cutting heirlooms. Now the only character that has a blade in the lore and "slicing" voice lines doesn't have one," one fan pointed out.

It's even been enough to push players away from maining Ash.

"Ash main here. Hoped for the rat, expected the sword, and got inspired to change mains," one person said on Reddit.

Now, players are looking to hold their money back until Newcastle gets his suspected Warhammer. Although who knows if he'll be able to pry one out of Caustic's hands.
