The long-awaited arrival of Apex Legends' swimsuit skin line is here, as Respawn Entertainment lifted the lid on the Summer 2023 collection.

Labelled as "Sun Squad", 24 new collectables have been launched, including a new group of skins, where the clothes and armour have been stripped back to the necessities for that feel-good summer vibe.

But having been teased for years, fans are now torn on the skin line, with some of the thirstier Apex Legends fans disliking the PG outfits and others praising Respawn for some of their most innovative designs yet.

Down-bad Apex Legends fans torn on Loba and Fuse swimsuit skins

It's safe to say that when the swimsuit collection was announced, a large majority of eyes were scanning the trailer for the chance to see Apex's poster woman, Loba.

However, Loba's very 80s disco top and shorts haven't been too well received, despite a clear PG rating.

"You know that ain't the Loba skin we wanted," proved to be one of the most popular comments from fans, and many more continued to post concept art of the heroine in more revealing outfits.

Other fans felt like the skin is actually contradictory to her canon, as one fan pointed out this outfit isn't a real depiction of her show-off character.

"Lobas character is designed to be this seductive femme fatale who likes to show off. Her going to the beach all covered up is weird if anything. People aren't even asking for unhinged anime-tier sexualized skins just a bikini real women actually wear to the beach."

Others have also hit out at Fuse's covered-up look too, given that previous trailers have already shown the rock-and-roll brute without a top on, as his introduction promo saw him emerge from the sea with the saltwater glistening on his pecks.

"It was right there how did ya fumble?", quizzed one fan.

Apex Legends fans love the Summer 2023 Catalyst skin

On the positive side though, both Catalyst and Mirage fans have been treated well.

Although Catalyst is one of the newest legends in Apex, fans have wooed over her new look in the Sun Squad line, as they stripped away the overly-gothic look in favour of an 80s glamour queen, more like the crystal-loving transgender woman that she's described to be in the lore.

Mirage on the other hand is always on the receiving end of a cool skim, but this time long-time fans of the bamboozler are loving his cheeky attire and chest hair.

The skin line launches on March 28, and while it has split opinions, its set to be one of the most-purchased range we've ever seen.
