It's been a rough few years for Revenant since his introduction to Apex Legends, as he's consistently dropped out of the metas after a heavy nerf to his ultimate ability.

Despite being an esteemed climber, the bionic hitman has never been able to claw his way back into popularity with players. It's all because his hitbox remains massive and his abilities continue to stifle.

But with an overhaul to his abilities having been rumoured for quite some time, Apex Legends has now finally teased that changes are afoot.

Apex Legends tease imminent Revenant rework

In the latest Apex Legends lore video, Respawn Entertainment finally eluded to the fact that Revenant is changing, as a list of characters intrude on the highly-sensitive information.

In Kill Code Part 1, Lifeline, Loba, and Maggie journey to Salvo, where they infiltrate Hammond Robotics and find what appears to be Revenant's glowing red eye severed from his body. it insinuates that he is under surgery.

The lore video ends with Lifeline entering the flash drive containing Hammond Robotics' plans, which will likely reveal all the changes that we're set to see affecting Revenant.

Leaked Revenant overhauls could arrive in Season 18

If leaks are to be believed, Revenant will be the focus for Season 18, where Respawn Entertainment is halting the process of releasing a new legend, and instead, will be diverting much-needed attention to Revenant.

Hammond Robotics' changes are presumed to be taking away all three of his current abilities and replacing them with new skills that better highlight his bloodlust and skirmishing dexterity.

The new abilities are expected to see a Passive that will identify low-health enemies, a Tactical that will allow him to leap to a targeted enemy - possibly including Titanfall-esque wall running - and an Ultimate, which will see his health regenerate from downing or eliminating enemies.

Of course, a complete rework of his body could also see his size change too. Part two of the Kill Code animation will air on Monday, July 31, just a mere week before Season 18. Here, we'll hopefully see to what extent Revenant will have been modified.
