Even in its endgame, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 continues to be plagued with problems. The automotive apocalypse has been one of the game's most divisive seasons, with the devs seeming to continuously struggle to strike a balance between overpowered vehicles and weapons like the Nitro Fists.
Epic Games has split Fortnite fans firmly into two camps this season, with those who immediately run for Nitro Fists or Magneto's Gloves then mod their vehicles into becoming lethal tanks, versus those who stick to more traditional gameplay of putting rivals down the sights of their crosshairs.Â
Fortnite acknowledges 'broken' Nitro Fists
Over on X (formerly Twitter), @Thilix highlighted an issue where Nitro Fists don't work once you've used the Cybertruck. The bizarre crossover has been an equally controversial part of the season, with players struggling to complete the Summer Road Trip quests. If you haven't unlocked the Cybertruck, you might be glad.
Someone on Reddit noted that the Cybertruck will become immune to Nitro Fists or the Ship in a Bottle if you transform your SUV into one with either of these items in your inventory. YouTuber Tabor Hill released a video warning not to use the Nitro Fists until this is fixed, showing how they died several times due to fall damage.Â
While some have slammed the glitch as game-breaking, others are applauding it as OP. It's no secret that Nitro Fists are a controversial addition to the game, with them becoming especially lethal in those final circles. How many times have we seen players launching themselves across the sky while trying to evade sharp-shooting enemies?Â
Even though it might be a frustrating issue, others found it funny. One mocked the real-life Cybertruck and said, "Art imitates life," while another added, "Just don't be a pu**y and use nitro fists or a car!" A third said, "The real problem is that you’re using the Cybertruck," and someone concluded, "Why does this feel…appropriate."Â
With it looking increasingly likely that we're getting a Marvel-themed Chapter 5 Season 4, it seems that Epic still has a few gremlins in the system to deal with before we get there. The next big Fortnite update is due on August 6, but with Epic promising it's working on a fix, Cybertrucks and Nitro Fists will hopefully be working in harmony before too long.Â
