If you've been giving Modern Warfare 3 the cold shoulder for some reason, now is your time to turn face-on with the latest Call of Duty, shake hands with the devil, and walk out of the fiery gates of hell to a land filled with promise.

Maybe it's out of fear of getting hooked on the game, or maybe the Modern Warfare 2 remastered maps just didn't tickle your fancy, but in Modern Warfare 3 Season 2, there's enough content for any CoD fan to enjoy. Oh, and the game is now being dished out for free...

As of February 8, Modern Warfare 3 will be free-to-play. You'll have to be quick, though, because the trial will only last until February 12.

The five-day frenzy will see players who are yet to purchase MW3 able to access a bucket-load of its content. It's all for nothing more than the emotional price it will take on your hard drive to download.

The free trial is the second of its kind so far and will see multiplayer and Zombies available. This serves as the perfect opportunity for Warzone folk to be torn away from Fortune's Keep or for general FPS gamers to dip their toes into the arcade shooter for a weekend.

Unlike the last Modern Warfare 3 free trial, this weekend's offerings will be much bigger. Nine multiplayer maps will be playable on five game modes, including the newly-added Stash House and the fan-favourite Shipment.

Over on the Zombies side of things, despite some disappointing news from Treyarch about the future of the mode, the open-world experience is still quite the enjoyable ride and will be available in full for players to try.

So, with Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 being the gift that keeps on giving, it might finally be time to come back from your boycotts, much like Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff...
