Vanguard Der Anfang Easter Egg: Is There An Easter Egg?
Click to enlargeMuch to the disappointment of many zombies fans, the Vanguard Der Anfang Easter egg isn’t actually available on launch. At this point you can access the new Zombies mode, which was developed by Treyarch, but you cannot access the main quests. It certainly isn't the smartest move from Activision and even fans agree that Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies sucks as a result of it. With a lot of players wanting for more, when will the Vanguard Der Anfang Easter egg actually arrive in the game? Luckily we shouldn't have too much longer to wait.
Zombies players are expected to get new content alongside the launch of Vanguard Season One. On the matter Treyarch stated: "Starting on December 2nd, new Zombies content and features will begin to roll out in Vanguard". However, that doesn't necessarily mean the Vanguard Der Anfang Easter egg will arrive at the same time. Treyarch also mentioned that the main quest for zombies wouldn't arrive until "after" Season One.
Vanguard Der Anfang Easter Egg: What Is The Easter Egg?
Click to enlargeSince the Vanguard Der Anfang Easter egg isn't currently accessible in Zombies, we don't know too much about what form the Easter egg will take. What we do know is that it will continue the Dark Aether storyline which was launched in Cold War last year. The Dark Aether storyline saw the Omega Group and Requiem facing off in increasingly evil schemes, while deepening the Zombies lore. That will only continue here with the Vanguard Der Anfang Easter egg. In its blog, Treyarch stated:
"This Main Quest will be tied to the arrival of an unexpected ally after Season One, which will further expand the narrative of the Dark Aether, and reveal more details about the characters and entities that players have encountered thus far."
This will also only be the first part of the new Zombies storyline, which will likely lead to new maps and plenty of Easter eggs beyond the one coming for Der Anfang. As for the "unexpected ally", we'd put our money on one of the original Zombies cast showing up.
