VALORANT's first year of inception has seen a huge range of agents been added to the ever-expanding pool, allowing for much more variety and strategy to be implemented into the tactical FPS.

With the additions of Yoru, Astra, and Skye adding to the original pool of Viper and co., Riot Games has been efficient in releasing more unique characters to the game, and they're set to continue doing so.

Going into VALORANT Episode 3: Reflection, a new agent is on his way...

Who Is The New VALORANT Agent?

As described by Riot Games KAY/O is “a machine of war built for a single purpose: neutralizing radiants.”

The electric defensive prowess will harness VALORANT’s radianite to prevent other agents from activating their abilities, an intuitive counter to most existing agents.

KAY/O Game Designer Ryan Cousart admitted that the intention behind the robot-like agent is to have a “back-to-basics” agent with frags and flashes, but with a “badass” kit with the addition of suppression.

KAY/O Abilities

With so many agents posing threats on bomb sites and in general gameplay, a defensive agent was inevitable. This is the agent that we’ve all been waiting for, the counter to the chaos, the defensive destroyer. KAY/O’s abilities will disable other agents’ abilities, a crucial component for most teams.

(E) ZERO

KAY/O’s ability to suppress opponents is the main benefit to his kit. Using E will equip a blade that sticks to the first surface it hits, causing an explosion and suppressing opponents from using their abilities.

(Q) FLASH

KAY/O’s ability kit sees him as yet another agent with a flashbang. The flash grenade explodes after a short fuse, blinding anyone in the line of sight.

The agent also has the ability to throw a charged flash. The charged flash can be activated by right-clicking rather than the usual left-click, and only has to be cooked for 1 second, as opposed to the normal 1.6 seconds.

(C) FRAG

KAY/O’s frag ability is rather deadly. The fragment sticks to the floor and explodes multiple times in a cluster-like fashion, with the centre of each explosion being almost lethal.

(X) NULL

KAY/O’s ultimate ability sees him instantly overloaded with polarized radianite energy upon activation. This empowers KAY/O and causes large energy pulses to radiate from his location, causing affected enemies to be suppressed for a short duration.

The ultimate ability for KAY/O also grants some perks for himself, adding a Combat Stim to his kit and adding a last-chance lifeline. If KAY/O is killed while overloaded, he enters a destabilized state rather than dying, offering his teammates a chance to revive him.

When Is The Bew VALORANT Agent KAY/O Coming Out?

The new VALORANT agent, KAY/O, will release on June 22, coinciding with Episode 3: Reflection.

Alongside KAY/O and his abilities, VALORANT will also be releasing a fresh new battlepass and a "Give Back" bundle that intends to support Riot's Social Impact Fund.
