If you are a Genshin Impact player looking to dive into Tower of Fantasy but don't know if it has unique and quality content to offer, you can continue reading our Tower of Fantasy Vs. Genshin Impact guide to check the list of similarities and differences both games have.

Tower Of Fantasy Vs. Genshin Impact: Similarities

Here are some of the similarities that Tower of Fantasy has with Genshin Impact:

Stamina System

Similar to Genshin ImpactTower of Fantasy has a Stamina system. The characters consume Stamina whenever they climb a structure, swim, sprint, dash, and do other actions.

Approach to Open World

Tower of Fantasy's approach to the open world draws many similarities to HoYoverse's Genshin Impact. Similar to the Statue of Seven, we have Omnium Towers. Both games have Teleport Waypoints under different names, World Bosses, Elite Enemies, a world design inspired by games like Legend of Zelda, and many other things.

Gameplay

While Tower of Fantasy has nuances that make its gameplay somewhat unique, the existence of Elements, Resonance effects, and other such mechanics are similar to that of Genshin Impact to some extent. We also have artifacts in Tower of Fantasy in the form of Matrixes that also have set status and other things players have already seen in Genshin Impact

Character

While Genshin Impact is clearly the winner regarding character design, their backstory, and other such things, Tower of Fantasy doesn't fail behind in taking some characteristics of those characters. We have King in Tower of Fantasy, who looks similar to Diluc.

In Tower of Fantasy, we have the companion Mia while in Genshin Impact, we have Paimon. We select a male or female character at the beginning of Tower of Fantasy who goes by Wanderer. In contrast, in Genshin Impact, we choose a male or female character who goes by Traveler.

There are many other elements that Tower of Fantasy has taken from games like Genshin Impact, like the Resin system. Tower of Fantasy also has a similar system where players consume VIT that regenerates over time doing Joint Operations, Dimensional Trials, and Spacetime Domains.

Tower Of Fantasy Vs. Genshin Impact: Differences

Here are some of the differences between Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy:

Gacha System

Tower of Fantasy has a more free-to-play-friendly gacha system compared to Genshin Impact. There is no Pity reset in Tower of Fantasy's gacha, while we have Pity reset in Genshin Impact's gacha. Tower of Fantasy offers many free currencies that you can use to perform free gacha pulls, which we don't see in Genshin Impact

  • Cyno, the General Mahamatra, is an upcoming playable character that the community has been waiting for a very long time, ever since he made an appearance in Genshin Impact's official manga. You can check out our guide on Genshin Impact Cyno: Everything You Need to Know for more details.

Genshin Impact doesn't offer five-star weapons or characters for free. Except for that PlayStation promotion, where users got Aloy. Meanwhile, Tower of Fantasy allows beginners to take an SSR unit of their choice.

End Game Content

Tower of Fantasy has better end-game content compared to Genshin Impact. We have Bygone Phantasm, Void Rifts, Frontier Clash, Wormhole, and other content you can grind when you reach the end game in Tower of Fantasy. Meanwhile, Genshin Impact has only Spiral Abyss.

Story and Setting

Genshin Impact has a far better Story, Setting, Music, and other elements when compared to Tower of Fantasy which lacks quality and only delivers quantity.

World Design, Open World, and Exploration

Genshin Impact offers a better open world, exploration, puzzles, and lore than Tower of Fantasy's open world, which is not that fun to explore. Now, there may be players who like the open world of Tower of Fantasy more than Genshin Impact's, but to us, it just didn't click. Tower of Fantasy's world feels bland compared to Genshin Impact's open world, filled with unique regions with different cultures, music, distinct world design, and other such things.

The list can go on if we compare small details and elements that make both games somewhat similar yet different. In short, Genshin Impact has set an industry standard for multiplatform mobile games that Tower of Fantasy or other games fail to transcend. While Tower of Fantasy does many things that set it apart from Genshin Impact, as a Genshin Impact player, you will notice things in Tower of Fantasy that look like copy-paste.

This concludes our comparison between Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy. For more Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy guides, be sure to keep reading GGRecon.
