THE FINALS will only arrive on the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

THE FINALS is a next-gen game that utilizes the new generation consoles and PC hardware, and it is not coming to PS4 and Xbox One.

All THE FINALS trailers so far

The first trailer we received for THE FINALS is the teaser trailer, which we got during the first day of Gamescom 2022, held on August 24, 2022. As expected, it was a short teaser that revealed a few details about the game, including that it was in development at Embark Studios, the developers behind Arc Raiders, a free-to-play third-person co-op game.

In the twenty-four-second-long teaser, we got a mix of THE FINALS gameplay and cinematic, highlighting its destructible environment feature.

The second trailer was revealed a few days before the closed alpha took place and hence got its name, "THE FINALS Pre-Alpha Gameplay Trailer."

It was a one-minute eighteen-second-long trailer showcasing the gunplay, the environment you can use as a weapon to your benefit, the availability of the Grappling Hook, and a foam-like device you can use for traversal. It gave us the vibes of the Goo Canon from Prey. And of course, we also saw the destructible environment on show.

The most recent trailer we've seen for THE FINALS was at the Xbox Partner Preview on October 25, 2023. Here, an open beta for the game was announced for the following weekend, which will finally let players give the game a proper try.

In the trailer, we saw plenty more of the action-packed gameplay, including plenty of brand-new weapons and gadgets. What's more, a few new maps made their appearance here, a few of which appear to be set in a massive stadium, further fuelling the illusion that this is all one massive tournament.

What do we know about THE FINALS gameplay?

THE FINALS is a three-player team-based multiplayer first-person shooter game that doesn't officially promote itself as a battle royale, but it sure has its elements. The gameplay is fast-paced and full of action.

Besides traditional melee and lethal weapons, players can use the objects in the environment to attack opponents or create a distraction. Similar to Battlefield 4's multiplayer, but on a much larger scale, THE FINALS game map is fully destructible. You can obliterate a team hiding in a building by destroying the supporting pillars and collapsing the entire thing.

Apart from that, there are pieces of equipment like the Grapple, that Foam weapon we talked about earlier, and other tools that will help you with the game's verticality, to traverse tall structures. The game boasts that you can alter, exploit and destroy the game map. Though, we don't know to what extent we can do these things.

THE FINALS also features visual and gameplay customization options to support different playstyles. The press release of THE FINALS has an exciting line that somewhat confirms that THE FINALS is not just another multiplayer first-person shooter game. It says, "Lose, and you can jump right back into a new tournament — win, and you can reach THE FINALS."

Will THE FINALS be free to play?

Yes, THE FINALS will be a free-to-play game you can download from Steam, the PlayStation Store, and Microsoft Store when it releases on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
