Like many triple-A games these days, Rise of the Ronin comes with a selection of pre-order bonuses as well as extra contents with its Deluxe Edition.

Although they're not essential to the experience, these special editions will certainly make your journey across 19th-century Japan even better.

Rise of the Ronin pre-order & Deluxe Edition bonuses

All of the Rise of the Ronin pre-order & Deluxe Edition bonuses are as follows:

Rise of the Ronin edition Contents Price

Standard edition pre-order bonuses

Regardless whether you order the physical or digital version, Rise of the Ronin comes with the following bonuses for pre-ordering, along with the base game:

  • Iga Ninja's Armour Set
  • Iga Ninja's Katana
  • Hayabusa-ryu for Katana (combat style)
  • Hayabusa-ryu for Naginata (combat style)
  • Nioh-ryu for Katana (combat style)
  • Aisu Kage-ryu for Katana (combat style)

New combat styles are especially hard to come by early in the game, so getting some extra from the get-go is an absolute highlight in my opinion.

Digital Deluxe Edition content

Rise of the Ronin's Digital Deluxe Edition is the only other version of the game outside of the standard; this one packs some extra cosmetics and other content along with the pre-order bonuses you get with the standard edition, as detailed in a PlayStation blog post:

  • Iga Ninja’s Staff
  • Toyokuni Paired Swords
  • Bando Warrior Armour set
  • Japanese Formal Wear set
  • Digital art book
  • Digital soundtrack

This version has a few extra cosmetic items, which bodes well for me as I love tinkering with what my character is wearing in any game. The digital soundtrack and artbook are nice touches too, letting you enjoy more of what inspired the game's artistically cinematic aesthetic.
