The next Pokemon TCG special expansion will be Paldean Fates, featuring over 100 Shinies and some brand-new Pokemon ex cards to add to your collection.

Ever since Japan's sparkling Shiny Treasure ex set was revealed, fans around the world have been patiently waiting for an English-language version to be confirmed. Now, our prayers have finally been answered!

Paldean Fates will feature loads of Shiny Pokemon cards to discover, so this is sure to be a collector's dream.

Pokemon TCG Paldean Fates release date

The first wave of Paldean Fates products will be released on January 26, 2024. On this date, you'll be able to purchase an Elite Trainer Box, a Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box, and a Tech Sticker Collection.

A second wave of products will arrive on February 9, 2023. This will include a Premium Collection, a Tin, and a Mini Tin. Finally, a Booster Bundle for this expansion will be available on February 23, 2023.

How many cards will be in the Paldean Fates expansion?

It's been confirmed that there will be more than 240 cards in the Paldean Fates expansion, with at least 130 of those featuring Shiny Pokemon designs. There will also be six hyper-rare cards to discover in the set.

This number makes it one of the larger English-language sets, especially when compared to the last special expansion - Pokemon 151 - which had a total of 207 cards including all of the secret rare variations.

Three Shiny Tera Pokemon ex-cards have also been confirmed: Shiny Charizard ex, Shiny Forretress ex, and Shiny Espathra ex. Expect plenty more Shinies when the set is released!

Here are all of the products that will be released as part of the Paldean Fates expansion:

  • Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box (out January 26) – includes 11 booster packs
  • Elite Trainer Box (out January 26) – includes nine booster packs
  • Tech Sticker Collection (out January 26) – includes three booster packs
  • Premium Collection (out February 9) – includes eight booster packs
  • Tin (out February 9) – includes four booster packs
  • Mini Tin (out February 9) – includes two booster packs
  • Booster Bundle (out February 23) – includes six booster packs

The Pokemon Center-exclusive Elite Trainer Box, which features two extra booster packs and a bonus promo card, is available to pre-order in the UK, US, and Canada now.
