Pokemon GO's April 2024 Community Day event features the popular Grass/Poison-type Bellsprout, so you'll need to know the schedule, dates, and bonuses to keep track of what's happening.

Community Days are the best events in Pokemon GO, giving you a chance to catch a specific Pokemon with boosted Shiny rates and a featured attack for its final evolution. Here's everything that's happening during April's event, as well as a list of all the previous headliners.

April 2024 Community Day date & time

The Bellsprout Community Day event will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 2PM to 5PM local time.

During that three-hour window, Bellsprout will appear more frequently in the wild and have a higher chance of being Shiny! This is the perfect time to add a Shiny version of this OG Pokemon to your collection.

I'll be honest, the Shiny versions of Bellsprout, Weepinbell, and Victreebel have always been a bit disappointing for me. They look so similar to the original colour schemes that you might not even realise they're Shiny if you saw them in the wild.

Having said that, I'll still be trying to get a Shundo as always, especially as someone who loves the nostalgia of the Kanto region.

April 2024 Community Day featured attack

If you evolve a Weepinbell between 2PM and 10PM, you'll get a Victreebel that knows the attack Magical Leaf. This is a Grass-type Fast Move with a nice balance between damage output and energy generation.

Magical Leaf looks like a decent addition to Victreebel's moveset, so it's worth evolving one while you can - especially if you can get a Shadow version!

April 2024 Community Day bonuses

The following bonuses will be available from 2PM to 5PM:

  • 3x Stardust and 2x Candy for catching Pokemon
  • 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokemon
  • Lure Modules and Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
  • Surprise encounters when taking snapshots of Pokemon
  • PokeStop Showcases featuring Bellsprout and its evolutions

The following bonuses will be available from 2PM to 10PM:

  • One additional Special Trade can be made
  • Trades cost 50% less Stardust

There will also be event-exclusive Field Research tasks and a paid-for Special Research quest available to complete during the event for extra rewards.

If you're wondering why there are no Community Days listed for the December months, that's because every December features the return of the previous year's headliners (and sometimes the prior year's too!).

While this is a great time to catch up on any headliners you've missed throughout the year, it does mean there's nothing 'new' to encounter in terms of Shinies or featured attacks.
