Hisuian Samurott has arrived in Pokemon GO as part of a special Raid Day event! If you want to catch one for your collection, you'll need to know its weaknesses and the best counters to defeat it.

As a 3-Star Raid Boss, this regional variant of the beloved Unova starter will be a tricky opponent to beat in the game. It is possible to take it down solo, but only if you come prepared with the right team of Pokemon.

Hisuian Samurott weaknesses in Pokemon GO

Hisuian Samurott is a Dark/Water-type Pokemon, which means it's weak to Bug, Electric, Fairy, Fighting, and Grass-type attacks.

All of these attacks are super-effective and will deal 160% damage to Hisuian Samurott, so a team consisting of these types should serve you very well here.

Best counters for Hisuian Samurott

Here are some of the best counters you can use to defeat Hisuian Samurott as well as their top movesets:

I haven't included Mega-Evolutions or Shadow Pokemon in this list as they're not the easiest to get hold of, but they'll usually provide an advantage in Raids if you do have access to them!

How to catch Hisuian Samurott in Pokemon GO

The only way to catch a Hisuian Samurott right now is to defeat one in a 3-Star Raid Battle. You can do this during the Hisuian Samurott Raid Day event on Sunday, December 3, 2023, between 2PM and 5PM

Using the weaknesses and counters above, you should be able to defeat it by yourself, but teaming up with two or three other Trainers will definitely make things a lot easier (and quicker).

Once you've defeated a Hisuian Samurott, you'll be given a limited amount of Premier Balls to try and catch it. I would recommend using Razz Berries to boost your catch rate or Pinap Berries if you want extra Candy.

It's unknown what will happen to Hisuian Samurott after this Raid Day event ends, but the chances are it will return to 3-Star Raids at some point in the future. For now, this is your only chance to encounter one.

That's everything you need to know to defeat Hisuian Samurott! While you're here, visit our Pokemon homepage for the latest news and guides, including the upcoming events schedule and the Spotlight Hours.
