PAYDAY 3 is right around the corner, set to release fully later in September - but there’s an open beta happening this weekend, and you can get involved yourself.
Starbreeze Studios is back with another instalment in the heist series, this time taking the PAYDAY crew to the dazzling lights of New York City. Complete with all new scenarios and plenty of additional mechanics, PAYDAY 3 is set to be a big step up from its predecessors.
If you want to get your hands on PAYDAY 3 early, you can do so with the upcoming open beta. Here’s everything you need to know about the PAYDAY 3 open beta release date, the start time, and how to gain access to it.
PAYDAY 3 open beta release date & start time
The PAYDAY 3 open beta is set to start at 00:00 am BST (Midnight) on Friday, September 8, and will run through until 17:00 pm BST on Sunday, September 11. That’s almost three whole days to get stuck into what this new title has to offer.

Which platforms will the PAYDAY 3 open beta release on?
The PAYDAY 3 open beta is set to run on both Xbox and PC platforms. However, PlayStation users are missing out as they won’t be able to take part.
PAYDAY 3 is set to release on PlayStation consoles, so it’s strange that PS5 and PS4 players won’t get to participate. However, the game is set to come straight to Xbox Game Pass, which might have something to do with the PlayStation omission.

How to get into the PAYDAY 3 open beta
As this is an open beta, anyone on Xbox and PC can log on and try out PAYDAY 3 for free this weekend.
On Xbox, you’ll need to navigate your way to the Xbox Insider Hub page on your console, and look for the Preview section. There, you’ll be able to download and play the PAYDAY 3 open beta. Bear in mind that you’ll likely need an active Xbox Live subscription to play as it is an online-only game.
On PC, you’ll need to log into your Steam account and navigate to the PAYDAY 3 product page on the store. There, you can download the open beta for free and get started when the release time rolls around.
