Is Persona 3 Reload coming to Nintendo Switch?
Console owners have been wondering if Persona 3 Reload will be coming to Nintendo Switch and it's easy to understand why.
With other titles in the series like Persona 5, Persona 4 Golden, and even Persona 3 Portable making their way to the handheld system, it's a natural question as to whether there'll be an option to play the remake of the original P3 on the Switch too.
Is Persona 3 Reload coming to Nintendo Switch?
No, there are no plans for Persona 3 Reload to come to the Nintendo Switch at this time.
Although this was somewhat hinted already, given the Switch platform hasn't been listed on P3R's release slate, extra confirmation was given in an interview between Spanish publication, Atomix, and the game's director, Takuya Yamaguchi.
Click to enlargeWhen translated, however, whilst Yamaguchi's answer does indeed clarify that the P-Studio team decided to not launch Persona 3 Reload on the Nintendo Switch, the latter part of his answer does give off enigmatic 'at least for now' vibes.
“Since we began conceptualizing everything that would come in Persona 3 Reload, we decided that there would be no version for the Nintendo Switch", the director confirms.
"Of course the idea is there, but it's a matter of discussing it with the team and seeing what they think about it and we'll see what happens”, Yamaguchi explains.
What this could mean for P3R on Switch
From a speculatory point of view, this could mean simply that Persona 3 Reload requires additional time for specific optimisation on the Nintendo Switch platform - much like many multi-platform games that have come before.
That even includes Persona 5 itself, which didn't come onto the Switch until five years after its release in the form of the enhanced Royal version in October 2022.
On the other hand, the P-Studio game director has made it sound like the conversion of a P3R Nintendo Switch port hasn't been had yet - instead focusing on getting it out on PC and other consoles first.
So whilst there aren't any plans for a Persona 3 Reload Switch port, it seems like the door hasn't been closed fully just yet.
