This special themed week allows Fortnite players to rekindle their relationship with the long-lost Sideways weapons. Fortnite Sideways Showdown Week: Overview
Click to enlargeKicking off the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 Wild Weeks is Sideways Showdown Week. As you might guess by the name, Sideways Showdown Week revolves around Sideways weaponry. Sideways Showdown Week is live now and will run until May 24, 2022, at 1:59pm (BST).
Remember Fortnite The Sideways from Chapter 2 Season 8? Back then, you had to craft and upgrade Sideways weapons with your bare hands using Cube Monster Parts. With Cube Monsters and crafting out of the picture, things work a little differently now. In Sideways Showdown Week, Sideways weapons come prebuilt and can be improved at Upgrade Benches.
Look out for the Sideways Rifle and Sideways Minigun in Chests and as Floor Loot.

- Collect a Sideways Minigun and a Sideways Rifle in a single match (2)

How to damage opponents with Sideways weapons
This one doesn't need much explaining — find either of the two types of Sideways weapons and use them to deal out damage to enemy players.
How to upgrade a Sideways weapon at an Upgrade Bench (1)

You can spend Gold Bars at Upgrade Benches to enhance your arsenal. Visit any Upgrade Bench and use Gold Bars to upgrade a Sideways weapon. Refer to the image above for the locations of all Fortnite Upgrade Benches in Chapter 3 Season 2.
How to overheat any Sideways gun (1)
Sideways weapons will overheat when fired for a prolonged period without a break. Hold down the fire button/key with a Sideways weapon equipped to complete this Challenge.
How to collect a Sideways Minigun and a Sideways Rifle in a single match (2)
For this Quest, you'll need to add both a Sideways Minigun and a Sideways Rifle to your inventory at the same time. Your best bet is to search locations with lots of Chests and Floor Loot. We recommend Fortnite Tilted Towers, Command Cavern, and The Daily Bugle.
How to defeat IO Forces with the Sideways Minigun (5)
IO Forces patrol areas controlled by the Imagined Order. With The Resistance continuing to retake more and more land, IO territory has dwindled. However, a large army of IO Forces remains at Command Cavern and The Fortress. Visit these locations with a Sideways Minigun and take out five IO Guards to complete the Quest.
How to damage opponents from 40 or more metres with the Sideways Rifle (150)
With a Sideways Rifle in hand, deal 150 damage to enemy players from a distance of 40 or more metres. You can ping a location or an enemy to determine your current distance.

Click to enlargeEach successful Quest will grant an XP reward. With Chapter 3 Season 2 winding down, every bit of XP is crucial to earning those final Season Levels and unlocking the Fortnite Super Styles.
This is only the beginning of the Chapter 3 Season 2 Fortnite Wild Weeks. May 24, 2022, at 2:00pm (BST), a brand-new Wild Week will go live. From the looks of things, it will be titled Rail Gun Recon Week and highlight the Rail Gun and Recon Scanner.
