EA Sports FC 24 (EAFC 24) is nearly here, and we are all wondering if you’re going to need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live to play the game. There are multiple different game modes in the game, ranging from online modes like the rebranded Clubs, to offline game modes like Manager Mode.
The most popular game mode in EAFC 24 will likely be Ultimate Team, the same as it is every year. This game mode will be the primary reason why anyone will wonder about the online requirements for EA’s latest iteration of their premier football game.
So, let’s dive into everything we know so far about whether or not EAFC 24 will need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live.

Do you need PlayStation Plus for EAFC 24?
You will need PlayStation Plus to play any of the online game modes on offer in EAFC 24. So, if you just want to play offline modes, like Career Mode and Kick-Off, you won’t need this service. However, if you do wish to play Ultimate Team, Seasons or Clubs then an active PlayStation Plus subscription is going to be needed.
You don’t need a subscription to do squad updates - these can be done as just a normal update when accessing the relevant game modes.

Do you need Xbox Live for EAFC 24?
The same as on PlayStation, you’re going to need an Xbox Live subscription in order to play the online modes in EAFC 24. However, the upside here is, if you are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass then you can go online for no additional cost. You also get an EA Play subscription included too, which means you will get some extra goodies in EAFC 24, including head starts on seasonal content.

Do you need to pay for EAFC 24 online services on PC?
No, EAFC 24 online services are completely free to use if you're playing on PC. This is a luxury that PC players are used to at this point, and that doesn't change with EAFC 24 either.
So, if you do own the game on PC then you’re just good to go - there is nothing else to worry about. However, it is worth noting the PC version of the game does use a different marketplace in Ultimate Team than the other versions of the game - so you won’t be able to interact with console players if you’re on PC.
