EA FC 24 Ultimate Team Rivals & Champs changes, rewards & ranks explained
A new EA FC 24 brings with it some changes to popular game types like Rival and Champions (Champs), as well as some tinkering with how the rewards work in Ultimate Team. Rivals and Champs are the two primary modes in Ultimate Team.
The above modes will offer some of the best rewards in the game and fuel your SBCs for the rest of the year, who knows if you’re lucky you may even get an Icon or two.
Not only are we going to go over any structural changes to how Rivals and Champs are played, but we will also outline comprehensively the new rewards system since red picks are no longer a thing.

How do Champs work in EA FC 24 and what rewards are available?
Click to enlargeYou will still continue to play qualifiers in Champs, in the hope of earning enough points to compete for finals that take place from Friday evening through until the early hours of Monday morning - this is the same as last year.
The biggest changes come from the rewards, with the red picks that used to take up the bulk of rewards now being left behind in favour of equivalent-value in-game items. The reason why red picks have been dropped is because, according to EA, “as we look at in-game usage, it’s clear that Ultimate Team Champions Players' match usage drops the deeper into the Live Service we go”.
Below, we will go over the rewards for both Champs Play-Offs as well as the finals. Here are the Play-Offs rewards:

Every change coming to Rivals in EA FC 24 and rewards explained
Click to enlargeThe focus with Rivals this year is to reward those who are the very best making it into Division 2 and above. Once again, for the higher levels of rewards, you won’t be getting red picks anymore. Instead, rewards will be inflated to have the equivalent value of these missing cards.
Rewards will continue to be handed out on a Thursday, whilst the season rewards will continue to build up over the course of a season and players will receive them once the season ends.
The Rivals tiers have not yet been released in the game, but we will update this once they're active.
