There are plenty of materials that you can gather and scavenge in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and Ores are some of the most precious, not only for upgrades but also for your wallet.

Finding Ores in the game can be a tricky business, but thankfully there are plenty of places that you can look during your adventure to find an ample amount of them to put to good use.

How to find and mine Ore in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Ores are most often found in cave systems or mines in Dragon’s Dogma 2. On the walls, you’ll find mineral deposits (think along the same lines as Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom).

By approaching these deposits, as above, you’ll be allowed to gather the Ore within by pulling out a pickaxe and chipping away at it. Additionally, some Ores like the Dappled Ore can be obtained by killing enemies like Golems as well.

There are Ores of varying rarity and all have a significant carrying weight. So, unless you have a way of keeping your carrying weight down, you may need to allow your Pawns to carry some of the burden.

What is Ore used for?

Ore is a pivotal material for upgrading your weapons and armour in Dragon’s Dogma 2. If you want to obtain some of the more powerful upgrades for your weapons, as I did with my bows in the Archer class, you’re going to need to find plenty of them.

Once you’ve found the necessary amount of Ores for your upgrade, you can hand them over to your local smithy in Vernworth and beyond and have them create new upgrades for you.
