Destiny 2 Rite Of Dawning Quest Walkthrough
If like many Destiny players you are in the Christmas spirit, then you may be taking part in the Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest. This Destiny 2 seasonal event has arrived with it its own rewards and missions, offering up the potential for some limited-time gear, banners and more. However, the Rites of Dawning quest line is the most extensive offered with The Dawning Event. Destiny 2 Rite Of Dawning: Unlock The Quest
Click to enlargeBefore you even begin the Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest, you must unlock the quest itself. To do that you will need to pick up the Dawning quest from Eva Levante to unlock Eva's Holiday Oven 2.1. Take part in any event, like the ongoing Dares of Eternity to earn Essence of Dawning and cook up your first tasty treat.
Gift it to Zavala on the Tower, who will then tell you to report back to Eva Levante, who can also be found on the Tower. Once you have spoken to Eva, the Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest will be offered up. After accepting you will once again have to speak with Zavala who will send you on your first mission.
Destiny 2 Rite Of Dawning: Find The Datapad On The EDZ
Click to enlargeFor the first big task of the Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest, you will have to head on over to the EDZ, which is one of the two locations on Earth which is accessed via the directory. When you arrive, you will head over to Firebase Hades. Head to the location shown above and you will locate the Datapad sitting by a wall.
Destiny 2 Rite Of Dawning: Collect The Ceremonial Cup
Click to enlargeSticking with Firebase Hades on the EDZ, the next step of your Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest will require that you venture to the Pathfinder's Crash Lost Sector. The Lost Sector is just a short sparrow ride away as shown in the map. You want to be taking out as many Cabal in the process, as you also must collect 25 Ritual Schematics.
By completing the Lost Sector and collecting the ceremonial cup, you will likely have the majority of the schematics, so a quick round of the Firebase Hades area will easily supply you with the rest of your needed Cabal targets.
Destiny 2 Rite Of Dawning: Complete The Arms Dealer Strike
Click to enlargeNext up in the Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest, head to The Arms Dealer strike on the EDZ. This can be found in the top right of the directory map of the EDZ, however, should be highlighted if you are tracking the quest in your quest log. Completing this full strike will gift your with your next quest item, the Torobatl Ceremonial Vestments.
Destiny 2 Rite Of Dawning: Bake Dark Chocolate Motes
Click to enlargeThe next step of the Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest is likely the most time consuming. You will need to cook up three Dark Chocolate Motes. The time-consuming element of this stage in the Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest is that you require one Null Taste for each Chocolate Mote cooked - and you'll need three of those. If you are in need of some Null Taste, head over to our guide on how to find Null Taste in Destiny 2.
Once you have cooked up three Dark Chocolate Motes, gift them to The Drifter, who can be found in the lower decks of the left side of The Tower. He will gift you with your third and final quest item, a bottle of Torobatlian Red. Take this to Zavala who will then assign you your last mission in the Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest, as well as gift you with the Malibeaux Bronze shader.
Destiny 2 Rite Of Dawning: Complete The Proving Ground Strike

Click to enlargeThis is the final big task of the Rite of Dawning Destiny 2 quest. Head over to the Nessus on the directory, and select The Proving Grounds strike. You will have to be sure you have completed the Challenger Rising quest to be able to access The Proving Grounds strike. All you have to do is complete this strike, so once you have fought your way through it, head back to The Tower.
Destiny 2 Rite Of Dawning: Collect Your Reward
Click to enlargeOnce you are back on The Tower, head over to Zavala, who will tell you to report to Eva Levante. Once you have spoken to Eva Levante, you can collect the From The Ashes emblem as your reward, which will track seasonal ranks as well as power final blows.
