The Royal Court DLC added a lot of new features to the game and overhauled some other systems.

One of the biggest additions of the expansion is the Royal Court itself. This is a personal throne room that characters can establish if they are at the King or Emperor rank, and in-game it exists as a fully realised 3D space where members of your court will gather.

Here you can listen to the worries of your court members, vassals, and the people who live in your kingdom when holding a court session. You can also visit other courts in different kingdoms and empires to see what else is going on around the world.

You can customise many aspects of the throne room, such as the court type, which adds different in-game bonuses depending on your choice, and the court language, which contributes to the grandeur of the court.

One of the other big aspects of the DLC is the relics. These are treasures like family heirlooms, ancient artefacts, or newly crafted works of art that can be shown off in your court, giving you bonuses. These range from swords and trinkets to thrones and crowns, letting you show off your wealth and family standing.

On top of the above features, CK3 Royal Court also overhauled the culture system, adding new traditions to choose from, cultural pillars that dictate your heritage, and more. This system allows the culture of your region to develop over time more fluidly based on the choices you make, letting you move toward a more monolithic culture or a fractured collection of different peoples.

That's all for our explainer of the Crusader Kings 3 Royal Court console release date, and now you know when you can play the expansion on your Xbox or PlayStation console.
