Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tips are essential if you want to make it out of this very different Battlefield experience alive. Battlefield 2042 is made up of three components, and while 128-player games of Conquest or Battlefield Portal may be catching all the headlines, Hazard Zone is the most tactical of the lot. So we've got ten Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tips that we wish we knew before getting into this new mode.

Before that, if you are looking for more Battlefield 2042 content, why not check out the best Battlefield 2042 weapons?

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone Tips: Stick With Your Team

The first of our Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tips is all about the team. Unlike regular multiplayer, losing a teammate can be a major setback. You have the opportunity to be revived, as well as redeployed with an upload beacon, but one crack in your squad can quite often lead to defeat. While there are more elements to this that we will get into, the main thing is sticking with your team. Too many players will sneak off to snipe from a random tower, but don't be that guy. A squad that sticks together, wins together.

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone Tips: Avoid Combat When You Can

While this might be hard for some players to accept, the next Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tip is all about avoiding the enemy. While kills can net you some currency, the real points are made by collecting hard drives and then extracting them. This means that the hard drives are of the utmost importance, and only really stand a chance of being lost if you engage in the target. Of course sometimes violence is the only option, especially around the extraction zone, but even then you should think tactically about when you should make yourself known to the enemy.

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone Tips: Give Your Currency Time To Build Up

This is the most financial of the Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tips, as it's all to do with the currency. Starting out with nothing, you will earn currency in-game which carries over and can be spent in future games. You use this currency to access different weapons, gadgets, and throwables with very few options being free. To start, only pick free options, as this allows you to familiarise yourself with the way of the game, without wasting currency and making a nice stockpile. A decent loadout can easily set you back close to a 1000 points, and when you get a couple of win streaks going, you don't want to run out of points when it matters the most.

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone Tips: Pick Up The Negotiated Bounty

A perk called Negotiated Bounty I is shown.

To continue on from the previous Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tip, pick up the Negotiated Bounty I for your first tactical item slot. The only other free option you have is for additional armour, but this option will allow you to earn 50% additional credits for taking out the AI Occupying Forces. These enemies are far easier to take out and can usually be found around Data Drive. It allows you to build up a decent supply of credits quickly, especially when you are still familiarizing yourself with the mode. Although beware, getting into a fight will draw the attention of enemy squads.

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone Tips: Team Coordination

While quite similar to the first of our Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tips, team coordination is a step beyond simply sticking together. With certain data drive areas holding more drives than others, and with two extraction zones, you and your team must decide whether you are going for the high risk zones, or playing things easy. And when everything goes to hell because a tornado ripped through your plan, or you crossed paths with another team, being able to coordinate your way around a situation is ultimately what will win games.

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone Tips: Check The Extract Vehicles

Let's say you took most of the Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tips into account, and you've nearly made it to the extraction vehicles. It can be tempting to bomb it through the carnage to the snug safety of the extraction vehicles. However, it can also be the exact idea another team had. There is nothing worse than running in full pelt to a vehicle, only to be taken out by someone already making it their home. Just as you would check your corners, check your extraction vehicles.

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone Tips: Be Wary Of Vehicles

Another vehicle tip , but while they are currency  tearing through All-Out Warfare matches, in Hazard Zone it's an entirely different ballgame. This Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tip is that you should be wary of vehicles, as they can be incredibly useful while putting your entire squad in danger. More than anything vehicles will be used purely as transport. Basic jeeps are scattered around, and can be great to quickly cover a large amount of distance. However don't ram your way through objectives like you would in regular multiplayer. You're probably going to get your full team wiped. You will be a tad more defensible if you drop in the LATV 4 Recon with an uplink.

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone Tips: Coordinate Loadouts

A perk called Squad Redeploy is shown.

Team coordination makes its way into another Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tip, but this time it's for your loadout. While you share an objective and team life, you also share loadouts, being able to lend a hand to various situations by using different tools. There is no point of every member of the squad picking a data scanner to pin down data drive locations, the same as there is no point in everyone having a Squad Redeploy. Coordinate your loadouts so you can spread your resources across the team.

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone Tips: The More You Win The More You Get

This might be the easiest of the Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tips to follow, because all you have to do is keep playing if you are winning. Hazard Zone features a streak system that massively benefits players that manage to extract multiple times. You can only build up a streak of three, but it boosts how much you take away from each match, and it also expands your tactical slots, allowing you to carry three tactical items at its max. Not only does this make it worth it for XP and credits, but it should also give you the advantage by being able to bring in more tools to combat your enemies.

Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone: Protect The Players With The Drive

The last of the Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tips will ensure you keep those data drives secure. Each player in a squad can carry a base amount of 3 drives, and those drives remain on any soldier that picks them up. That means that if that player is killed, they will drop their data drives, making them available to the enemy. As such, hold back from making the one holding the data drives you frontman. Until the full squad is stacked on data drives, they are your number one asset, and must be protected at all cost.

That's all of our Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone tips, so go out there and get extracting. If you are unsure of which Battlefield 2042 specialists to bring into the Hazard Zone, check out our guide.
