CoD Fan Creates Cold War Zombies Loot Calculator
As the Call of Duty franchise takes another "bite" out of the competition, the fan-favourite Zombies mode is tearing through Black Ops Cold War. Although there have been criticisms that Zombies has been slow on the uptake in terms of content, players at least know it's part of Treyarch's evolving roadmap. With more maps and story on the way, we're on tenterhooks to find out what's coming after "Die Maschine".
There are plenty of new perks in Zombies, and it wasn't just a revamped version of "Nacht der Untoten" that had us excited to tackle those decaying Nazis. Zombies has a great balance of familiar features and new additions. At the core is a tweak to the way the staple Mystery Box works. Now, some clever gamer has created a Zombies Loot Calculator to find out the probability you'll soon have a D.I.E. Shockwave in your grasp.
Zombies Loot Calculator: What is it?
ZOMBIES Probability Calculator. A system designed to calculate the chance of getting every gun, in every rarity, in every round from the Mystery Box. from r/blackopscoldwar
In Cold War's Zombies, Mystery Boxes get better the longer the game progresses. It makes sense that you should be rewarded with better gear as the match get harder. Still, there have been grumbles about the sheer unpredictability of the Mystery Box. This is what spurred Nitrolysis to share their creation on Reddit. The Excel-based system is available via a Google Drive link and aims to predict the chances of specific drops.
The Zombies Loot Calculator is an impressive beast to behold, so it's no surprise it took Nitrolysis two weeks of writing to code to finally crack it. Thankfully, they've done the hard work for us. Next time you drop into "Die Maschine" (or hopefully a new map), the Loot Calculator could be a handy tool to have in your arsenal as you rip through hordes of rotting enemies.
Zombies Loot Calculator: How does it work?
Nitrolysis' sheet is accessible by anyone who joins the Loot Calculator Discord and can provide evidence of their Zombies haul. It's apparently accurate up to Round 100, meaning that will cover most of us who chug through the rounds. The best thing is, the more players that input their data, the more accurate it becomes. There's room for 500 cells for each weapon to record how Mystery Boxes work.
Even though you can bring custom loadouts into Zombies, the mode's new rarity system has nerfed them. The hope is that the Loot Calculator can help us understand a little more about how the game ticks. As more and more fans make use of the Loot Calculator, it's guaranteed to become a must-have addition to your Zombies experience.
