Things are looking good for Ubisoft, as XDefiant is off to a flying start. Even though it's only in its Beta stage, there's plenty for first-person shooter fans to already be excited about.

From fluid gunplay to a highly competitive matchmaking system, the "CoD killer" is poised to become the next best shooter title that could finally give Call of Duty a run for its money.

But, in a bid not to fall into the same category as Splitgate, Rogue Company, The Finals, and many more failed games, Ubisoft promises a wealth of features to come in post-launch content.

What post-launch features are coming to XDefiant?

With a Ranked mode already promised for Season 1, the XDefiant developers have now revealed that killcams, prestiges, and combat records will all be arriving once the game fully launches to its baying crowd.

In a string of tweets, Ubisoft Executive Producer Mark Rubin revealed all of these are in the production line alongside more gameplay features. Talking about the Prestige system, Rubin claimed XDefiant would be looking towards implementing an old-school CoD type of feature.

"We are looking at having a prestige system go in for maybe Season 1. Would be more traditional and by that I mean it wouldn't be seasonal," he said on Twitter.

When can you expect XDefiant's new features?

Not only is XDefiant already mapping out content features for its post-launch honeymoon, but the developers have also claimed more tweaks will be made to its gameplay as a direct result of player feedback.

Reticle customisation, movement mechanics, and more camos will be coming in Season 1 and beyond. Patrick "Aches" Price is a two-time Call of Duty World Champion turned XDefiant producer who said, "I love that we allow for mid-air redirection but it does seem it may be too quick," revealing that more movement mechanics will be tinkered with in the coming weeks.

One thing is for certain, the ability to go prone will not be added, as the developers want to be rid of "cheese campers" in shooter games. There are sure to be teething problems - as there are with any game - but XDefiant could already have CoD quaking in its boots.
