Ubisoft's XDefiant is coming back to the shooter market, and it's not a moment too soon. The shooter world has been uncontested for too long, with players frustrated that THE FINALS hasn't taken the top spot and that Call of Duty seems to win out every time - despite bugs, glitches, and maligned mobile ports.

The FPS world needs new competitors, and players hope that despite the game's insistence on making everything about itself, XDefiant will welcome players into a new era. As its battle passes apparently leak, it looks like the game is ready to offer some very self-referential goodies.

XDefiant's battle passes have seemingly leaked

A huge swathe of leaks have come from XDefiant HQ, revealing the content lying in wait for players in the game's first seasons. It looks like the team is dedicated to bringing Ubisoft franchises to the shooter in their own fascinating way.

As these images have been hit by copyright claims, it indicates some level of truth to the leaks. The leaks themselves have seemingly confirmed the XDefiant battle pass will have 50 tiers, with the core battle pass available to purchase for 700 XCoins. 1200 XCoins includes 10 free tiers to help the process along.

Along with this, a map themed by Far Cry New Dawn will apparently be touching down in Season 2. The images being stripped from the internet is a bit of a roadblock, but it hasn't stopped info from hitting Twitter - and it looks like the various seasons are going to delight fans of Ubisoft's biggest franchises.

According to the leak, which has been shared and corroborated in a Reddit post, new factions will be introduced each season. Season 1 will kick off with Rainbow Six Siege's GSG9 Tactical Unit, before moving on to Far Cry New Dawn's Highwaymen, an Assassin’s Creed-themed faction, and the Wolves from Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

It's compelling to see how Ubisoft is managing its content with itself in mind when it comes to XDefiant, although its success as a 'CoD killer' remains to be seen. One thing is for sure: We haven't seen anything like it before. We're rooting for Ubisoft on this one, so don't let us down.
