We've reached a point where we've exhausted all of the jokes we can make about the appearance of Xbox's Series family of consoles. "Look at the silly Series X, everyone, it looks like a fridge." Or, "Doesn't the Series S look silly with its big vent, it looks like it's watching me!" Rinse, repeat.

Microsoft seems to be in on the joke, though, developing actual refrigerators modelled after the Series X and offering them to fans in giveaways - even putting them on the retail market. You thought you were funny with your little gag in the Facebook comments, and now, Microsoft is calling your bluff by dangling the joke in front of you.

The gaming giant is doing it all over again, with a new product that makes you think, "I’m sure there was no need for this." Bringing memes to life just like KFC and its KFConsole (although it never materialised), the Xbox Series S toaster is here.

Oh, good, the joke isn't dead yet. As a part of Microsoft trying to be in on the joke that its consoles look like kitchen appliances, it's introducing another one modelled after the Series S and it's practically challenging you to buy it.

There were rumours of a Series S-themed toaster making the rounds back in March, but they were thought to be a clever Photoshop and a silly joke. As evidenced by the Walmart website, the Series S toaster is real, and it's ready to prove to your house guests that you've never once thought about interior design.

The toaster is faithful to the design of the generation's little brother console, with the vent on the front remaining in place and allowing you to imprint the Xbox logo in the centre of your toast. This is presumably in case you need to remind yourself every morning that your breakfast is only fuel to get you through angry rants on Reddit.

You can order the toaster from Walmart now for only $39.99, which ultimately, isn't that bad for a novelty toaster. It clearly does the job, and with a bagel setting, it's hard to deny that for the very specific market of people who want their kitchen to scream, "I’ve played Gears 5," it’s probably a good deal.

To Microsoft's credit, it looks like it functions well with an LED digital countdown, crumb tray, and an extra-long bread slot. Still, we'd at least run it past our partner before making the kitchen into a gamer's paradise.
