Microsoft is apparently releasing an Xbox toaster…for some reason

Xbox is no stranger to bizarre marketing. From the reveal of the Series X fridge to the Supremo Far Cry 6 console (Google it), it's clear that Microsoft doesn't mind making itself look a little silly to catch some attention. Though we probably could have guessed that from the design of the original Xbox controller.

Odd hardware seems to be well in Xbox's wheelhouse, as its SpongeBob and Oreo console sweepstakes prove - but the gaming giant is willing to get even weirder, as it takes a big step into the kitchen.

An Xbox Series S toaster may be on the way

Well, we wouldn't expect much weirder from Xbox at this stage. According to a rumour and item description image, it looks as though a new toaster based on the Xbox Series S console is on the way from Microsoft.

This is all currently unconfirmed, so don't take its word as bond, but a new image supposedly revealing the toaster has landed on Twitter from GyoJvfr's account. If real, it boasts two slots, an anti-jam function, anti-slip feet, and even a removable crumb tray.

The item is claimed to cost around $60, which is one hell of a price for a two-slice toaster, and especially after Xbox fans shelled out $100 for the Series X fridge. It might be expensive, but we're on our way to having entirely Xbox-themed kitchens. How very exciting.

Where can I get the Xbox kitchenwares?

Sadly, we haven't seen anything official about the Series S toaster just yet - but there are still ways for you to get your hands on 2021's Xbox Series X fridge that took the internet by storm.

Taking the memes that the Series X looks like a fridge that step further, Xbox dropped the real fridges online a couple of years ago, and if you're in the United Kingdom then you're in luck - because they're still in stock at Currys for home delivery or collection.

We've got some questions about your interior design intentions if you're going for a full set of Xbox kitchenwares, but hey, they're there if you want them.
