Following the closure of her co-founded company, RFLCT, Rachel "Valkyrae" Hofstetter has revealed that she is seeing a therapist, as she deals with the "trauma" of the backlash.

Despite being a two-year-long project with Valkyrae as the face of their launch, RFLCT has effectively terminated, pulling their products from more than 400 stores across America. The closure comes after their products were labelled as a "scam", as a result of zero public evidence that their claims of "blue light protection" was made public.

Valkyrae confirmed the closure of the company on Twitch, before explaining that she has been released of her contract with a "clean break", and revealed that she is now seeing a therapist to help deal with the trauma. She also revealed to her fans that she has become "very depressed".

"I’m going to therapy… I’ve got a lot of trauma. I've been going through it," she said on her latest YouTube stream.

"I’ve really been having a bad time. I do think I have mental damage from all of this, for sure. I got very lucky in that there wasn’t a lawsuit or anything, but I’m still in a terrible mental place.

"I know it’s only been two weeks, and it will get better, but it was a big mistake, and it’s really left me in a terrible place. I have to give myself time.

A silver lining for the streamer was that she was able to cut ties with the company without a lengthy lawsuit process, as she was getting prepared for in order to be relieved from her bind.

Having opened up about her therapy, the 100 Thieves Co-Owner began reflecting, on RFLCT, admitting that her fellow streamer Jeremy "Disguised Toast" Wang was correct in calling her naïve, and that he warned Valkyrae that she was too trusting.

"I was incredibly naïve, and it’s been a big learning lesson. I’m going to be more careful with everything moving on now, that’s for sure. I’m naïve, impulsive, and too trusting. Toast told me the last one," she said.

"It’s crazy figuring out just how dumb and naïve you are, how naïve you can be. I can’t trust myself anymore. I just can’t do that anymore."

Thankfully for Valkyrae, the RFLCT saga is now closed, as she continues seeing a therapist and getting back to enjoying video games and streaming.
