After a solid start, THE FINALS is well and truly kicking into gear - which is a delight to see. It's not often that a real competitor in the shooter space rears its head, so to see The FINALS snowballing player numbers and Twitch streams is an amazing feat, especially for a game that dedicates so much to its aesthetic.

Except, as engaging as The FINALS may be, it's taking its toll on some. We've seen that the number one player of THE FINALS has dedicated so hard to maintaining his spot on the leaderboard that he's falling asleep live on stream.

Now, there are some pretty major complaints about how the game's battle pass functions. Yes, it's another day, another battle pass problem for fan-favourite shooters.

THE FINALS fans think its battle pass is too hard

The battle pass has become a crucial part of the forward motion of free-to-play games, especially shooters - but there are some that feel that the approach taken by THE FINALS isn't good enough. There are claims Embark Studios made it too tough to level up in-game any earn any cosmetics.

"67 hours in and I'm level 70 in the battle pass," says one user taking to Reddit to complain about how slowly they're progressing in the game. "That's with me doing most of the dailies so far and every weekly.

"I don't see how this is sustainable for the game," they continue. "Battle passes do not take this long in any of the big games anymore. The worst part is that this game doesn't even have weeklies that carry over, so it's impossible to finish after a certain point in the season.

"This means fewer people buying this pass each season because they know they can't dedicate that much time to a single game when they play other stuff." It appears they aren't alone in their grumbles, with others joining the anti-battle pass campaign.

How can THE FINALS fix its levelling system?

Fans have taken to Reddit once again to consider just how THE FINALS can amend its overly difficult content mill - and they think that the key lies in the currencies that players aren't actually using as much.

"I think the weapon currency should be convertible into bp xp since it's literally worthless if you have everything," says one user. Fans are impressed by the idea, and think it could work nicely, as another said, "3000VR turned into 30 Gold, I'd be fine with that honestly."

Someone else added, "As a community, We should really push for a Halo Infinite type pass. You buy it, you get to work towards it at any time. If you have multiple battle passes that aren’t completed, you can pick which one to go through."

THE FINALS implementing a fix of some kind remains to be seen, but coming sooner rather than later could save Embark an awful lot of trouble. THE FINALS is performing incredibly well right now, but still, it needs all the good press it can get.
