We all love it when a new game comes along and sweeps us off our feet, and for many THE FINALS has done exactly that. The new shooter blends first-person shooting, destruction, and cash-grabbing game shows into a formula that has taken the game straight to the top, among the most played games right now.

That massive influx of players has been a double-edged sword, as with a high player count comes plenty of enterprising cheaters looking to get ahead the unfun way. The issue has become widespread, and honest players want something to be done about it.

Shield? What shield?

Cheaters in online shooters are unfortunately common, with no shortage of hacks and exploits available in games like Modern Warfare 3 and Overwatch 2, for a price. It didn't take long at all for the same to be true for THE FINALS. Players have been on the receiving end of some truly wild situations.

Reddit user u/Myhsst kindly shared this clip of another player landing some suspiciously perfect headshots, which wouldn't be so suspicious if they didn't come straight through a completely impenetrable Dome Shield.

Thankfully, THE FINALS dev has vowed to clamp down on cheaters, and that couldn't come too soon.

As for right now, players are still suffering. Since that statement, players seem to be coming up against more and more cheaters, even in ranked matches.

This kind soul took one for the team and interacted with one of these cheaters, so we could all see exactly how they do what they do. Reddit user u/Nieoh claims they reached out to the cheater while feigning interest in making a purchase.

Said cheater provided the wily player with this demo reel, showing them firing a weapon vaguely in the direction of other players and even straight up into the air, and landing each shot with dead-on precision. Hopefully, these are exactly the kinds of cheaters that Embark Studios claims to be clamping down on.

With millions of players enjoying THE FINALS in the short few weeks since the game launched, it would be a shame to let the cheaters ruin it for everyone. Taking them down should be pretty high on the list of future plans, even if THE FINALS doesn't have a roadmap yet.
