The surprise launch of The FINALS was a bit of a shock for everyone, and with the level of hype around a game claiming that it could be a shooter that garners a strong esports following, fans were more than ready to take the game for a spin.

The FINALS seems fun so far, tightening up on gunplay and destruction systems that its contemporaries can't reflect with so much charm. But the game isn't without its troubles, as some game show contestants are resorting to cheating to swipe wins. Thankfully, it seems that developers Embark aren't having any of it.

A new post has been added to The FINALS' Discord channel that explains how developers Embark aren't going to stomach cheaters for much longer. Despite the title's infancy, the team is rolling out plans to keep them out of the game show-inspired shooter.

"Hey folks!" starts a new post from the team. "Over the past few days, we've had a technical issue that prevented us from banning cheaters efficiently. We're now nearing a solution to this bug, and we've already begun re-upping our anti-cheat measures again," promises Embark.

"Thanks for your patience as we continue to sort through issues. Keeping the game a smooth, safe, and fair space for players is our biggest priority." While other shooters are accused of letting cheaters slip through the net, The FINALS is starting its assault early.

Official message about the AC. Ban should come soon!

The update is vague, but for many, it's enough. The FINALS' progress has been steady, especially when considering that it has some lofty competition in the industry. The fact cheaters are first on the list of problems to tackle is a comfort to many.

What does the future of The FINALS look like?

It's hard to say right now if The FINALS will last or not, but it'd certainly be nice to see a new competitor take over the shooter field. The main criticism of the bombastic blaster is that it has too few game modes right now and that it needs to expand to keep players interested.

Embark has said there are currently no plans for a specific roadmap, but if the game continues to adapt, The FINALS could rival the champions of the industry. It's still great to see The FINALS isn't wasting time cracking down on cheaters before the problem leaves its control. If it does, we could be in for the final round of The FINALS.
