A new Tales from the Borderlands was not something we were expecting to rear its head in 2022, but damn, if we're not happy that it did. The Borderlands spin-off traded chaotic gunplay for sincere storytelling in the intergalactic wild west of the Borderlands themselves.

Telltale's game went down an absolute treat with fans of the series. Though it was a big departure for the looter shooter, it worked nicely. With a sequel on the way, fans are more into it than ever. Now, a new leak has revealed that it's coming very soon.

Is Tales From The Borderlands 2 Releasing In 2023?

According to notorious leaker Okami Games, it looks as though we have game art and a release date for the upcoming Tales from the Borderlands sequel. Better yet, it's seemingly titled New Tales from the Borderlands.

This information comes from a leaked Amazon listing, which is the very same source as this recent Dead Island 2 information leak. Amazon has always been a sneaky place to get your video game leaks, but to spoil two major titles in the space of a day means we'll be keeping a closer eye on the online marketplace.

This Tales from the Borderlands news comes with more details about the game's narrative - "Within the perpetually war-torn metropolis of Promethea, you'll control Anu, Octavio, and Fran on the worst day of their lives," reads the description on the page. "Help these three lovable losers as they endeavour to change the world (and maybe even save it)!"

When Is New Tales From The Borderlands Coming Out?

If the Amazon listing is to be believed, New Tales from the Borderlands could blast its way into our lives on October 20, 2022. It's a surprising 2022 launch in a year that still has God of War Ragnarok, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and more to cram into the rest of the year. In a year that's faced so many delays, it's refreshing to see that Gearbox could drop a surprise Borderlands game to redeem the industry.

Even if this isn't quite the hopeful announcement of Borderlands 4, it's still a pleasant surprise. We already had Tiny Tina's Wonderlands in 2022, and even though we're left in the dark about the next mainline entry, this is clearly the year of the Borderlands spin-off. We can't wait to hear more tall "tales" of the Borderlands.
