As far as limited-time game modes come in Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment has begun barking up the right tree in the least 12 months.

Since the first-ever modes that differed from the standard BR experience, like Shadowfall, Winter Express, and Third-Person, fans have called for some more variation to Apex Legends, with a world of possibilities to dive into.

Now, with the addition of Straight Shot, players think Respawn has finally captured the essence of what Apex Legends offspring should be, and are calling for it to become permanent.

Having seen progress come in the form of more recent LTMs like Arenas, Ultra Zones, and Three Strikes, all of which have been much more suitable to Apex Legends, Respawn's new Straight Shot mode has become a revelation.

"Straight Shot is the best mode ever implemented that truly makes you feel like you’re playing Apex in its prime," one fan said in a popular post to Reddit.

"What straight shot allows, is a very fair and instant fun first fight, that if you win, you then immediately still get that battle royale feel of choosing where to go, what POIs and events to hit and as well and class structure truly mattering. ALL WITHIN 10 MINUTES."

The post was met with resounding support, with other fans claiming that the mode is "a perfect example of a company listening to its player base." But it is an LTM, and 'limited' is beginning to worry some players.

In a separate Reddit post, players have been pleading with Respawn Entertainment to make Straight Shot permanent. "Please, devs, keep this as an option. It might not be for everyone, but I think it's great," one fan said.

Another added, "Straight Shot and 3 strikes should definitely be permanent, Respawn cooked with these modes," claiming both modes should be here to last.

Apex Legends has made some modes, which aren't the typical battle royale experience, somewhat permanent, with Gun Run, TDM, and Control being added to the Mixtape rotation.

Maybe it's time to let go of Control and TDM and slip in Three Strikes and Straight Shot into the mix alongside Gun Run.
