Is having the right movement mechanics a deal-breaker to making a good Call of Duty title? Probably. Games such as World War 2 were discarded for their 'slow' gameplay while the jet pack-influenced Infinite Warfare and Advanced Warfare were originally ridiculed for being too fast.

Now that we're in the 'slide cancelling era', Modern Warfare 2 is set to shake up the bag a little bit, by reportedly overhauling the movement to ditch the camera-breaking knee jerks.

However, original reports might not be 100% accurate, as new leaks suggest that the game won't be released with slide cancelling, but the developers have created it and could implement it if the fan base ask nicely enough.

Leakers Believe Slide Cancelling Has Been Made For Modern Warfare 2

According to "Metaphor", a leaker who has been notorious for spilling the beans on Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 having 'played' both games, a port for slide cancelling has actually been added.

The leaker claims that Infinity Ward has created a system where slide cancelling is available, but they are waiting until players have been able to make judgements on the movement through the beta.

Apparently, the slide cancelling port could be activated, if players want it.

Slide Cancelling Won't Be In The Modern Warfare 2 Beta

The beta won't have slide cancelling, instead opting for the dolphin dive and the long slide, which will be best used for disengaging and hiding.

However, it appears that Infinity Ward will wait until after the beta to collate some feedback on the movement before deciding to activate the feature.

Should the current dynamic prove to be sufficient, the plan-b slide cancel won't be added, although it appears that there's not much faith in the system if they've been forced to create a backup.
