Blow up the balloons, light the candles, and ready the party poppers because it's Skyrim's tenth birthday and Bethesda is going full out to make sure it's an anniversary to remember.

The countdown to the release of the Skyrim's Anniversary Edition has been keeping fans hyped. Now, on November 11, 2021, it's finally here.

We already knew Dragonborns would be able to go fishing, which was something we never knew we needed. As well as this, we knew that there would be new missions in the game which link up to the other classic Elder Scrolls games Morrowind and OblivionHowever, Bethesda has since revealed that the latest Skyrim package will allow players to take on their treacherous foes with brand-new magic.

What New Magic Will Be Included In The Skyrim Anniversary?

A new trailer released for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition said that Dovahkiin's will be able to "conquer Skyrim with new gear and magic". In the trailer, the Dragonborn can be seen using their magical skills to battle a bunch of enemies, both old and new. While it didn't name any new items specifically, the trailer provides fans with a number of snappy glimpses at all the new additions that will be coming to the game. This included a snazzy looking bow, which looks similar to an Ebony Bow, and an exclusive, intimidating headpiece.

Eagle-eyed Skyrim fans can spot a number of familiar spots from all around Skyrim in the trailer, including the snowy College of Winterhold and everyone's favourite little cottage of comfort, Breezehome. Although, the trailer shows a whole load of new additions that the Anniversary Edition will feature. At one point, the Dragonborn can be seen gearing up to fight a giant skeleton and a spectral mudcrab-looking creature. On a more friendly note, it looks like players can have a bony pet pooch join them for their journey. In one snippet, the Dragonborn is shown galloping through Tamriel on a unicorn, let's just hope they can handle cliffs.

Fans also got to see just exactly what to expect if they decide to have a little fishing trip. All three of Skyrim's classic DLC add-ons (Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn) will be available to play, also.

Where Can I Get Skyrim Anniversary Edition?

Skyrim Anniversary Edition is available to purchase on Steam and the Microsoft Store, along with PlayStations and Xboxes. PC players who already the Special Edition can purchase the upgrade for $19.99 but PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console owners will then receive the update for free. There will also be physical copies of the game available for PS4 and Xbox One consoles, according to Bethesda's website. For players who don't have the Special Edition of the RPG, it's up for sale at $49.99.

There may be some discussion that we should move on from Skyrim and finally let the Dragonborn settle into retirement. However, the overwhelming amount of love that has been spewed across the internet in the lead-up to its anniversary, proves that this fantasy RPG is still very much alive.
